Yesterday, I was talking to a friend (E we'll call her) about
this blog. E said it is rare for non-artist art lovers to get to know much about what goes into making art, what choices, what options, what directions lead to the finished piece She said that she found this aspect of the blog interesting. So.... a little detour in honor of E. Here are the beginning stages of the mural I'm working on, from the underpainting, to prelim drawing, to early delineating with color and shape. I'll update as I go along. I think. Unless I chicken out.

Wow, your friend is right, it really is fascinating to see the work in progress. I'm looking forward to seeing the ongoing process, thankyou! Lovely painting.
I've been doing similar with my Bed drawing for Everyday Matters, which is sadly neglected the last few days. Perhaps I'll go on with it this afternoon, as I thought I was due for the dentist but hubby got the time wrong so I had to make a new appt. So to sit and draw instead of sit and be drilled is a pleasant surprise!

Hey, that is kinda cool. I never paint, only draw, so the whole idea of building a painting up is sort of alien to me.
