I've neglected my painting side for a while (as opposed to my sketching side.) To nudge myself into action I'm posting a couple of very early phases of paintings I'm working on. I won't post daily reports on their progress as I did for my mural (see Archives, March and April) but I will show their development at sporadic intervals. These images are just baby paintings and they have all the amorphousness and awkwardness of babies everywhere, without, unfortunately, that universal appeal.
Remember, just as with babies, there's no guarantee how these creatures are going to turn out. Here we go.

Thanks, Wally--great to see you here. They're probably not going to look very Matissey when they grow up, but we'll see.

Good Lord, I spelled "Matisse-y" wrong!

Beautiful! Very Mattisse-y.

Thanks, all! I've decided to let them grow awhile in privacy but am taking pix every day and will post the sequence closer to completion time. Hint: they're growing by leaps and bounds.

Hello, baby paintings! The forms look so free, wheeling around like Flowers in Space presented to the viewer from every different angle. Can't wait to see them grow up!

Oh, I love these!
I also agree with Chuck Rose--your breakfast drawing radiants warmth that accompanies high spirits. So wonderful to see that!
