One year gone, to the day. Thinking of him makes me happy. He was a character and I'm fortunate he was mine.
Lucky me to have drawn him shortly before he died. I asked him to pose for me and he sat there with that Mona Lisa smile on his face, pleased as punch to be the center of my attention. Lucky me and my daughter C to have had lunch with him that day, one last time, before she went off to college, one last time, in any case.

Doesn't he look just pleased as punch to be with you two. What a great sketch of him, Laura.

Lovely sketches and so poinant. I too suffered a great loss on this day and am sorry for your loss. Thankfully you had some last wonderful memories to carry with you of your father. What a sweet photo of your father and daughter. I hope your heart is fairing well dear Laura.

My words won't add much, but...lovely, in all ways and at all depth.

Blooming youth, fading age... sweet.

Oh Miss Laurax--that is so beautiful. I'm glad you had the chance to draw him, one last time, and that you had him to draw. He looks like a wonderful, tender man...
