"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique... . It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable it is nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself and your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware of the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open."

Now it's July. No doubt this month I'll be doing more playing with line, more transcribing the calligraphy of my garden, more pushing paint and ink around, all of which activity you see in these pages from June's journal.
Hope your summer (or winter, if you're antipodean) is happy!
