I drew yesterday from a live model with a couple of other women. It's a tenuous group ... I do hope it continues. I have missed this way of receiving the presence of another human being. Here is a head drawing of Sharon, the glorious model.
There is to be another drawing session next Friday, at least, with Sharon as model. I will be grateful for that.
And here are dahlias, the last of my earlier batch. Going to the farmers' market in a few minutes and hoping against hope, for one last gasp.
I note the gestures of Sharon's hair are very like the gestures of the dahlia forms. Oh, right, I was the one who drew/painted both...that explains everything.
Happy October weekend to us all!

Thanks so much, Kate, Beth, and Jane. Jane, it's great to see you here! Beth, I know you would. Kate and Beth, the group seems to have stalled, but there should be a November 18th session... cross your fingers.

I really love the model's expression. And I agree. Both drawings have your amazing animated line. Great work and great colours!

If I were there I'd try to join you, Laura! That's a beautiful free sketch of an inspiring model.

They DO both have your touch! And I'd love to have a group that could sketch live models...we had that this summer, one day, and the kids were great. I hope your group continues!
And Sharon's lovely, of course!
