wow. I leave for one week and I miss so much. I just love your loose lines. We do have to crawl one day because I would love to see how fast (or slow) you work. Great work.
Now I have to go catch up on the rest of the entries...

Cin, Tom, Julie, Dona, V and T, thank you, thank you! I'm so happy to 'see' each of you. Dona, maybe you and Karen and I can form a Moulin Rouge phalanx of three and see if we can't get that stuff to grow! V, could you send me the mouse remains so I can draw them? T, just be sure you put shadows under the objects. Easy peasy.

I love salamanders! Well, maybe not in the house. They're just one of those ultra-vivid creatures that looks downright artificial, they're so perfectly and smoothy articulated. Yours seems a particularly sinuous specimen.

And I'm so jealous of your breakfast plate! Not just the eating baked eggs part (I was fine with my browned potatoes this morning), but that when you draw a table of stuff, it all looks like it is sitting on the table. When I draw a table of stuff (which I've taken to doing every time I'm waiting for my order at a restaurant) it all looks like it's suspended in some kind of topsy-turvy space.

I adore this post and the drawings that accompany it! It makes me feel as if I ran around chasing salamanders with you and then sat down to have baked eggs, while admiring sunflowers.

By the way, Mr. P and I had an intruder upon our domestic bliss in the form of a mouse. We managed to overcome this obstacle, I am glad to report.

I tried to grow Moulin Rouges is my garden this year, but the seeds didn't sprout. Instead I planted some other reddish variety from starts, but they aren't the same. I saw some fake Moulin Rouge flowers at the grocery store the other day - they'd been put in red water to dye the petals, but they just weren't the same. I love the line quality of your hand. It is so perfect for flowers and salamanders, too.

Laura, thank you for your too kind comments on my blog. I thought your latte cup was MUCH better than mine.

I've been lurking in your blog for a while because I've really enjoyed your work, but as a new blogger I've been put off leaving comments in non-BLOGGER accounts because I've taken time to craft comments for some blogs only to get them rejected because I don't have an account with the same provider. Anyway looks as though other people aren't having a problem leaving comments. I'm snowed under with work at the moment, but I'm looking forward to looking through your archives in the near future.
