Wow, I don't know how I would handle a child leaving. I was always on the other side, the daughter leaving never being the mother. A regret I hold dear. You are a strong woman.

Absolutely lovely. I find her gauze determined. I wish her all the best for a wonderful year - may it be filled with much joy and adventure. It won't be long before you are with her again.

Laura, what a beautiful drawing of your dauther. Your post also reminds me that when my son leaves in 2 weeks, I will survive. I'm so sad already and have been dreading his leaving for years. He of course is really excited. He'll be so far away ....not Europe though. Thanks for the post.\

Wow, thanks to the latest visitors for your comments! Big H, I love seeing your big old pawprints here anytime. D, so glad to see you and many thanks for ALL of your responses! B, I know you know the feeling of missing a child. A, J and J, merci beaucoup!

Nothing is as good as having them home, but email, phones and pictures sure do help!!!

Thank God we live in the technology age.

(we are allowed to post twice here... right?) =P

What a beautiful daughter you have! Such a lovely sketch. We are expecting our exchange "daughter" to arrive from Thailand in 2 weeks. Such daring young people!
