If you don't ask me what these characters mean, I won't tell you that I have no earthly idea, that I copied them from a random piece of art paper I had in my studio, just because the characters seemed to connect to what I see as the calligraphic shape of shrimp, especially shrimp drawn with brush pens, and Japanese brush pens at that. So, please--- don't ask. Because I'm not telling.
Four pens were used here, only two of which were Japanese, truth be told: Kuretake brush pen with black ink, Sakura Micron in sienna ink, crow quill with burnt sienna ink, and Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen in sienna.
Oh wow! These are so great! I haven't been by in a bit and I have missed some wonderful things! I love your style!

Kate darling, this is in my sketchbook, so I can't give it to you, but I could do a similar one for you.

What impresses me most about your drawings are the colors and depth you create with washes and pencil. Each is its own masterpiece and a beautiful mixture of the most rich and inviting colors.

Great shrimp -- I especially love the one in the upper center.

Personally not a big shrimp fan after having to de-vein tons of them in a restaurant I worked at, but you make these look positively adorable. Very good!
