One of my very nice readers, Deni May, writing me about my theme for this year, a theme whose pursuit is taking me to Hawaii AND Paris, asked, 'is it orchids?' A good guess, but not the right answer! I do have orchids in my house, though, and here are a couple of them:
One person has guessed the answer to 2008's Mystery Theme and a
couple of people have come close, so I'm going to tell you what it is
next week. I want to show you the things I'm working on, things
relating to the theme, that I haven't been able to share thus far, too!
In these sketches, playing with Schmincke gouache, watercolor, dip
and bamboo pens and india ink---oh, and Mars Lumograph 8b pencil in the
face.
These make me want to run out and buy orchids - simply Glorious. As far as the guessing I am clueless but want to know more about your book!!!

Hmmmm...I thought of another one: water/food (at home and in restaurants;) faces of family and friends; flowers/nature--all representing artistic sustenance? OK, I give up. ;))

Your white orchards on that coloured paper is my favourite - the gouache gives them such sparkle.
Whenever you paint flowers I think, Laura should just paint flowers; then you paint food and I think, Laura should concentrate on painting food; and then you do an interior; or a face (isn't she a treasure this one?) ; and I think, Laura is never going to run out of beautiful themes!
Now I have to wait until NEXT WEEK! to satisfy my curiosity.
