It's really exciting--scientists have discovered the existence of mirror neurons in the brain, which probably account for the phenomenon 'monkey see, monkey do.' Click here and read about it.
I first learned of this in the fascinating book The First Word: the Search for the Origin of Language by Christine Kenneally.
Anyway, here's another monkey in the monkey parade.
And here's a sketch of yours truly in the tub, celebrating yours truly being in the tub, because it rained recently.
It hasn't rained much here in the past months, so we try to conserve water. I bathe about once every two months. (I shower every day. Feel better?)
OK, you monkeys. Bathtime.
I enjoyed looking at your farm animal sketches. Made me want to find a farm. I really like the bathtub piece. I could see myself trying this and with the wine and warm water, falling asleep - dropping the painting into the tub.

Thank you so much, you all! Yes, Bec, you're the only one who realized I was announcing bathtime for you monkeys, whoever you are ;D.

I'm new to your blog and really enjoyed looking around. Your sketching is amazing! As a Francophile, I was captivated with your sketches from Paris.

painting in the bathtub...hmm. I confess I've never tried that. Will you be doing a shower painting next?

You may go where you please...but please keep painting monkeys! I love the charming one at the top, who appears to be wearing a lovely bonnet while posing demurely with a cup of tea.
