We had a grand time in Spain--- my first visit. Barcelona reminds me of southern French cities and towns I've been to, which is not surprising since it is about three inches away from the French border. Well, five inches. It is a lovely, laid-back, slightly gritty, place.
My favorite things about Barcelona were the magnificent food market, the mercat de la Boqueria, the best I've seen in Europe for sheer variety, quantity, beauty, and Gaudi's Parc Guell. That Gaudi---I'd like some of what HE was having.
Here's the first installment of this trip's sketches. More to come.
Great drawings! I like the expression and rhythm in your lines. And, Barcelona is so wonderful! That market is so cool, did you do any drawings there? I loved the dark alleys in the old section...so many fun things!

oooh, lovely! I really love the brush pen--I was using my Pentel again this morning. You've gotten such wonderful, expressive lines and shapes...

Beautiful sketches that really whet my appetite for this place I have always longed to visit. I just KNOW that I would have to be drug away from all that fantastic architecture.
I look forward to your further discussion of brush pens. I have the standard pentel pocket brush pen, and I feel sure that there are many others that I NEED!

Beautiful sketches. If I don't check in to your blog for a while, I miss so much! What sort of ink or pen do you use for your sketches? Love those pigeons.

What a treat - Barcelona seen through Laura's eyes! Your line is sinuous and elegant, and your use of color so distinctive.
