...before I had to leave, very prematurely, due to my mother's illness. See post below. Can't wait to take this up again in a January workshop!
.
At bottom is the biggest and the last sketch I did. It's about 11 x 14 and though the scale of the people is way off (I didn't take the time to calibrate relative sizes, working quickly as I was), I think I was beginning to get what Ronnie and Margaret were saying about drawing crowds and conveying the gestalt of a busy scene. I'm going to work on this on my own and then, as I say, sign up for their January workshop.
Thanks very much for your comments. My mother is doing much better and is to be discharged from the rehab center tomorrow. So the news from today is good. I'm grateful for that.

Laura - Tell me again where you were taking this workshop (before duty called)? Sounds like a fantastic class. I'm so sorry you had to miss it, but you're right - when the phone rings in certain situations, you don't have to think twice. Anyway, good work as usual. Best to you.

Wow! this workshop sounds amazing! I will have to plan a trip to the states to do it - I am such a fan of Ronnie's and Margaret's sketches.
Really love your sketches. Hope you get to do it again.

What a great workshop!! These sketches are already amazing!! I'd love to attend it too - but I'm much too far away! It's great you're going to be able to attend it in January! I hope everything is going to be fine with your mum. Take care

Laura, I've missed so much lately. These are wonderful, but I'm so sorry that you had to abandon the workshop early - hmm, maybe I can find a way to join you next time around....
Please keep us posted about your Mom. I'll be in touch soon.
