It was an amazing, amazing weekend in Portland! Gabi and the other organizers worked SO hard to make it happen---and the unanimous consensus was that it was a smashing success! Here are some sketches I made while there, with some color splashed on today for added oomph. I was, for some reason, in a kind of black and white mood over the weekend, which made no sense whatsoever, but there we are.

More sketches, more words, more urbanity (or a reasonable facsimile thereof?) to come!
Looks like it was great fun. I've been following Liz and Borromini's exploits.

Great sketches, as always, Laura! I love the pirates too. And Kumi sketching is so lovely and sensitive. I'm so bummed I didn't get to meet you. I hear next year will be in Lisbon. Maybe we'll have the opportunity to sketch together there!

Oh, LOVE the pirates, and the Japanese garden...
Must have just been non-stop! What a lot was offered...

I seem to be following Cathy around today. :) Wonderful sketches, Laura. The added colour works a treat. Looking forward to more words and pictures.
