I've long been wanting to sketch some vignettes from my favorite local boutique, Lark Home and Apparel. It really is mostly apparel and it is where I mostly buy mine. I love the three women who own/run it. Last Friday morning, I took my sketchbook and my oil pencils and to Lark I went! If it had not been so busy, I would have sketched Amy and Katherine, too. Next time, I will.
That was the shop part of this post. Here is the update:
I have begun a relationship with a well-established WONDERFUL art agent who found me on line and is interested in helping me get some of my work licensed for various commercial uses. More about all of that later. For now, I will just say that this process is helping me focus on two or three directions in my artwork, directions I was following anyway, but without as much focus as I now have. For a person like me, who wants to do everything, all the time, this will be helpful!
On the travel front: I leave for San Francisco Thursday to visit my oldest, dearest friend and former college roommate, Kathleen. She learned of my mother's death and invited me to come for a visit. Reader, I shall.
Two days after I return, I leave for Berlin on a reconnaissance trip with my daughter Cecelia. She wants to move to Berlin in January. I want to be sure it will be okay. It was ever thus for us mothers.
So, here we are. I will be here at Laurelines more frequently than I have been lately, in this new dispensation, and I hope you will be, too.
As always, thank you for your caring support and your interest.
