On Saturday, my dear friend Kathleen (see sketch of her below) left me for a couple of hours to draw at the Farmers' Market. That's where the gull sketch was done as well as the two following. What a great place for food, for sketching, and for chilly joie de vivre!
Kathleen is my oldest, dearest friend. She invited me to come for a visit when she learned of my mother's death. Being with her was balm to my soul.
Two more Buddha heads for the collection!
Yes, there's Berlin with its sketches to come, too! Gosh.

Such wonderful San Francisco sketches and atmosphere Laura (I had a whole day there once in '93) - love your enormous gulls! I'm so glad you had such a good visit with Kathleen, there is nothing like an old friend for rest and healing.
Can't wait to see how you sketched Berlin!

Looks like another delicious outing... I'm just wondering if the "Dirty Girl" is in yellow or the orchidish pink. I would think she would wear brown and green, but clearly I know nothing.

Hello. Your SF sketches are lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing more. A sweet reminder of my holiday there in September (sighing wistfully)...
